Programming Portfolio Summary
The programming portfolio contains various projects that were given to us in various classes. We had two intense semesters. The semesters are known as CIS 199 and 200. Both of the semesters used the book Visual C# 2005 How to program by Deitel and Deitel. However, the 200 class moved to the 2008 version. In 199, we learned the basic syntax, .net , visual studio, command prop applications, classes, objects, algorithms, pseudocode, if, else, while, do...while, debugging, methods, overloading, arrays, static classes, and encapsulation.

In CIS 200, we dove further into programming in order to truely learn how to use the objects created from our custom classes. We also designed applications with a graphical user interface (GUI). We covered inheritance, polymorphism, exception handling, regular expressions, string builder, I/O with both text and serialization, searching and sorting with binary, linear, select, insertion, and merging. We also covered data structures, generics, and collections.

In our VB.NET class we had completely moved into 2008 as it released the previous semester. VB is extremely easy to pick up after learning C#. The book in use was Beginning Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 by Thearon Willis and Bryan Newsome. We covered the syntax, data structures such as arrays. Once the basic language was understood, we began doing some very cool projects. We worked with web services, XML parcing, menus, error handling, methods, and an introduction to Windows Communication Foundation (WCF). This led to my love of ADO.net which has now been infused in WCF officially for Visual Studio 2010.

In our ASP.net 3.5 class we used the book ASP.NET 3.5 unleashed by Stephen Walther. This book is also known as "The big orange book that hurts when you drop it on your foot." We covered the ASP.net framework, standard controls, rich controls, server controls, master pages, themes, skins, session states, data acces with SQL 2008 server, lists, gridview, repeater, listview, navigation, site maps, and ajax. The way that we learned ASP was in order to read the chapters assigned we would be assigned a page to create based on our readings. It was an overall web site for fantasy football. We were each given assigned a team.I had Da' Bears. We connected it to a database for players and showed the viewer offensive and defensive lines while also creating a theme and using a master page. We also used ajax so minimize the postback.

The database class was used as a foundation to database architecture. We used the book Database Systems: Design, Implementation, and Management. We learned 1NF - 4NF, metedata and what it was, entitity relational diagrams (ERDs), T-SQL on SQL server 2005 and 2008. We learned primary keys, foriegn keys, referential integritry, database design by given scenerios, business intelligence (BI) by writing T-SQL code as a star schema to create business tactics based on a relational database. We also covered triggers and stored procedures. I really enjoy working with databases.

  Design Portfolio Summary
The design portfolio entails a vast amount of design work I have done over the years. I have had the titles of Creative Director, Art Director, Senior Web Designer, and Web Designer.

I grew up sketching with my grandfather and annoying teachers with doodles on my papers. Then entered college at Sullivan University. We learned layout, golden space, photo manipulation, Corel Draw, Photoshop, 3D Studio Max, Premiere, After Effects, and color theory. We also covered some of the engineering aspect such as architectural drafting, and Auto Cad.

From there, I became a web designer with ProMedia Group. My first website was for General Electric (GE). It was designed in photoshop and flash. There was a 3d model built and animated within flash so that the user can rotate and open the Zoneline air conditioner. Several large projects were also worked on like the ATM Marketplace, Sullivan University, and Bales Auto Mall.

The net bomb then occured and we were all shuffling to find new positioned after being laid off. I found a job at Budget Print as an Art Director, where I created template design and paper plates for printing templates.

I was offered a job at TMP Worldwide, where we would lay out advertisements for jobs. TMP owns Monter.com and the job was alike in posting jobs, only we would lay out the advertisements for various print media such as magzines and news papers. There were several teams made of 4-7 people that would watch several states.

Soon after, I did some freelance work for Doe Anderson on the side. This included creating a package for some lawn equipment.

I was also doing work on the side for my own company, Liquide Statik. It was primarly web design for condos that were being built in Florida. I also did posters for a band in Japan and various business cards, logos, trifolds pamphlets for various other clients.

Later, I obtained a job at Pilgrim I.T. as a Creative Director. There I was in charge or timelines, budgeting, contracts, client meetings, as well as designing and programming websites frontend. Many projects came through as web design while also creating logos, business cards, large print items, and various other items. We usually dealt with small to medium sized business clients. We did a lot of work with not-for-profits such as Home of the Innocents, Rotary and Club 45.

After Pilgrim I.T., Ideology Marketing + Design took me in. I had the title of Senior Web Designer. Flash was used for a lot of the animations and navigation on the web sites created, such as Free Enterprise Systems, which is a bus touring company. We also worked on TV advertisements, and large print such as bill boards.
